Basic Drivers Education

Street Smarts 101 is focused on advanced drivers training programs that supplement and enhance basic Drivers Ed.  We also offer programs to help parents in meeting their states Graduated Drivers License (GDL) requirements. So before our program can be effective it is necessary that your teen have a drivers permit or license.

If your teen doesn’t have a drivers permit or license, we recommend the following two options to help you get them one.

Find a Driving School
(Option 1) Traditional Driving Schools

If you feel more comfortable with a traditional brick and mortar driving school, then use our Driving School locator below to find a driving school in your area. All of these driving schools offer the Street Smarts 101 program as well as most of these following services:

  • Pre-Licensing Classroom Instruction
  • Driving Simulator Training
  • Behind-the-Wheel Instruction

Online Traffic School

Life is hard enough for our teens. Learning to be a good driver, maintaining a good GPA, studying for SAT’s, looking at colleges and the list goes on and on. So don’t let a single traffic ticket ruin their driving record.

Here at Street Smarts 101 Interactive we are focused on teen crash reduction training that’s why we recommend Safe2Drive to help your teen get their ticket dismissed. Parents, they can help you too! Even though we may not want our teens to know it, we make mistakes too.

Safe2Drive

Safe2Drive is a leading provider for online traffic school and defensive driving. Their courses are state approved and meet the requirements to dismiss a ticket, reduce points and decrease your insurance premiums.  Their innovative approach includes interactive exercises and defensive driving games to keep students engaged. The more you enjoy, the more you learn – and they  make it so you want to keep learning. Get ready for the most engaging Defensive Driving Course on the internet!

Cell Phones and Driving is a Deadly Combination

The only way to make 100% sure you and your teen are not driving distracted is to TURN OFF your cell phone! But we understand that old habits are hard to break and that we can only trust that our teens are always following the rules. If you are looking for an extra layer of security for your family we recommend that you please take a look at ZoomSafer.

ZoomSafer is easy-to-use software for your mobile phone that helps ensure safe and legal use of mobile phones while driving. ZoomSafer is the practical answer to the problem of distracted driving;

  • It activates automatically when it detects travel and blocks incoming phone calls and text messages
  • It auto-responds to incoming calls and texts letting your friends and family know that you're driving
  • It can be turned off if you are a passenger

Help us prevent distracted driving!
  • Nearly 6,000 people died in 2008 in crashes involving a distracted or inattentive driver, and more than half a million were injured. (NHTSA)
  • Using a cell phone use while driving, whether it's hand-held or hands-free, delays a driver's reactions as much as having a blood alcohol concentration at the legal limit of .08 percent. (Source: University of Utah)
  • The worst offenders are the youngest and least-experienced drivers: men and women under 20 years of age. (NHTSA)
